DAY 1: Trek from Mcleodganj to Triund (9,432 feet / 9 km)
The first morning of the Indrahar Pass Trek to Chamba Valley, we leave the from the markets of Mcleodganj, pass through the quaint village of Dharamkot and after the Gallu Devi temple, walk through forests of Oak, Deodhar and Rhododendron. A relatively easy ascent, the last stretch of this day is a little steep. But just about when you start wondering how long this ascent will last, the Triund plateau catches you off-guard and the view overwhelms you so much that you forget even the thought of fatigue that you had a minute ago.

DAY 2: Trek from Triund – Khabrotu – Laka Got (10,498 feet / 6 km)
On the second day of the Indrahar Pass Trek to Chamba Valley, wake up above the clouds as you begin ascending towards the Snowline Café. From there it is a decent till the Laka Got, a grazing ground nestled between the mountains. Walk around this meadow and take in the spectacular views before pitching the tents there. Spend the evening acclimatizing before you begin ascending to summit the following day.
DAY 3: Trek from Laka Got – Indrahar Pass (14,107 feet) – Chatta Parao (11,154 feet / 10 km)
On the third day of the Indrahar Pass Trek to Chamba Valley, we begin early morning to traverse the toughest but most rewarding part of the trek. Depending on the time of the year, there maybe ice or snow on this stretch for a few hours before making it to the pass. After the monsoons, the snow melts away and there is a rocky path leading to the pass. At summit, soak in the unbelievable views of the Pir Panjal range in the north and the Mani Mahesh Kailash in the east. As the day progresses, the weather becomes unpredictable. So after a small halt at the pass, we begin descending to the village of Chatta Parao.
DAY 4: Trek from Chatta Parao – Kuwarsi Village (8956 feet / 15 km)
The second last walking day of the Indrahar Pass Trek to Chamba Valley, we descend from the alpine pastures of Chatta Parao. Passing through the Chatta Nullah and meadows of Mandra, you continue walking till the charming little village of Kuwarsi. After spending the last few nights in the tents, the warmth of the wooden log huts in Kuwarsi are a pleasantly welcome change. Spend a cozy night in these huts.
DAY 5: Trek from Kuwarsi Village – Hilling Village – Chamba Town
On the second last day of the Indrahar Pass Trek to Chamba Valley, delve into the local culture as you have breakfast with the Gaddi tribal shepherds on your last trekking day. Understand their way of life before you begin walking along the green fields of Kuwarsi and Hilling. After an easy three-hour walk, you have the option of getting into the comforts of your car and drive to Chamba town where our trek ends.
